the basics

The MASS 2022 Spring Internship will be a comprehensive dive into the world of private sector Strength & Conditioning. There will be learning sessions, hands-on coaching, and opportunities to actively help with the behind-the-scenes of owning and running a gym.

This internship is for future or current coaches interested in learning what it takes to develop athletes of all skill levels and how to run a business.

All learning sessions and coaching sessions will take place at Moran Academy for Strength & Speed (MASS) at 1099 3rd Avenue SW in Carmel, IN, and be taught and overseen by Kyle Moran and Mandi Roberts. Events will be at different locations depending on the event.

what you’ll learn

Intermediate-Advanced applied physiology and anatomy, including but not limited to: principles of strength and conditioning, principles of speed training, exercise selection, exercise application, long-term athletic development, and program design.

How to communicate and lead all personality types, including but not limited to: creating buy-in, conflict resolution, identifying personality types and how to work with them, and how to lead and earn the title of “coach” from your athletes.

The sports of (Olympic)Weightlifting and Powerlifting

Small business basics, including but not limited to: event planning and execution, content production and implementation of marketing and sales strategy.

We also will ask you what you would like to learn. The goal of this internship is NOT to give you lectures and have you clean the gym, but this internship is designed to challenge you and give you the opportunity to get the absolute most out of this experience.
